Otec Douglas Bazi je Iračan pochádzajúci z Bagdadu. V r. 2006 bol unesený a mučený lokálnou Islamistickou skupinou. Na liečení strávil viac ako pol roka. Z Bagdadu odišiel a prijal miesto správcu farnosti Mar Ellia, ktorá je v kresťanskej štvrti Ankawa v meste Erbil v Kurdistane. Od 7. augusta 2014 sa, okrem svojich farníkov, stará o takmer 700 utečencov alebo "Spolubratov", ako im on hovorí.
Father Dougles is an Iraqi priest from Baghdad. In 2006 he was kidnapped and tortured by an islamistic group. After release he spent more than 6 months in a hospital. A few years ago he became a parish priest in Mar Ellia parish in Ankawa, Erbil in North Iraq. Since August 7th, besides his parishiners, he's been fathering more than 600 CHristian refugees or "brothers" as he calls them.
